Chicken Tortilla Soup - Dinner

I want to start by noting the addition of dinner to the title of this post. That's important. There is a chicken tortilla soup for lunch that is very different.

That noted, I want to start with my wife's review of this soup. You see, she started the evening with this as her dinner choice. She took one bite and immediately was disgusted. There was a spice in it that she just couldn't eat. This is a pretty big deal as she has been able to finish everything she has eaten on the plan so far. Needless to say, she was very disappointed, especially since chicken tortilla soup is one of her favorite soups, and ended up eating chili. She gave it a 1 out of 5.

That's not the end of the review, though. I thought I had to try this disgusting mess they'd tried to pass off as soup. Frankly, it wasn't so bad. In fact, since I was in the process of choosing my dinner for the evening, I went ahead and ate the soup completely and was quite satisfied.
I would say there is some thing a little off with one of the spices. It's also very one note. There's a lot of flavor there, but it's mostly just one flavor, which is a fairly generic chile. It had a good heat to it, though, which I like, and it was pretty substantial compared to many other nutrisystem dishes, and the flavor want really bad, either. It just wasn't great.

I'm going to give it a 3.1 out of 5. I'd eat it again, even if it wasn't my favorite.
